Privacy Policy

Seuil (“we”, “us”) helps you prepare for French proficiency exams (TEF/TCF). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and a display name, used to create and secure your account.
- Learning content you create: audio recordings from speaking practice and written responses from writing practice. These are sent to our AI service to generate feedback and scores.
- Learning activity: lessons and exercises completed, answers, progress, streaks, and estimated proficiency levels, used to personalize your practice.
- Technical data: a user identifier and basic app/diagnostic data needed to operate the service.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, health, or financial data, and we do not use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps or websites.
How we use information
- Provide and personalize lessons, practice, and feedback.
- Maintain your account, progress, and streaks across devices.
- Generate AI feedback on your speaking and writing.
- Maintain, secure, and improve the app.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that process it on our behalf:
- Supabase: authentication, database, and storage (backend hosting).
- AI providers (e.g. Anthropic): to generate feedback on your speaking/writing and power the conversation tutor. Submitted text/audio is processed to produce feedback.
- Text-to-speech / transcription providers: to play audio and transcribe recordings.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your profile, progress, recordings, and submissions.
Children
Seuil is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, authenticated access). No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy and will revise the date above. Material changes will be noted in the app.
